The Development Authority of Columbia County and the Columbia County Board of Commissioners are pleased to announce the development on a new industrial park. On December 28th the Development Authority of Columbia County purchased 271.9 acres at Exit 183 on Interstate 20 between Appling and Harlem. This site will serve as the foundation for Columbia County’s new industrial Park.

Gov. Nathan Deal released his budget recommendations to the General Assembly for the amended current and upcoming fiscal years. Budget priorities include building an educated workforce capable of meeting future job demands, expanding and improving services for Georgia’s most vulnerable citizens, and continuing to invest in transportation infrastructure and economic development.

Over 2,000 state and local Chamber of Commerce members, public officials and other attendees at the 2018 Georgia Chamber of Commerce “Eggs and Issues Breakfast” heard Governor Nathan Deal, Lt. Governor Casey Cagle and Speaker David Ralston repeat the mantra that Georgia has the No. 1 business climate in the U.S. for the fifth consecutive time. Yet, each cautioned that the 2018 General Assembly opening this week has its work cut out for them during what will eventually become an historic election year.
