Research indicates that more than 3,000 students in Richmond County School System do not have Internet at home.  That means that approximately 15% of students are likely not getting the early exposure to technology that they need to be successful, especially in a community that is expanding its technology workforce on a daily basis.  To address this issue, the Chamber’s BEAC will host the Augusta Digital Inclusion Summit in partnership with the Richmond County School System to start the conversation with elected officials, educators, businesses, non-profits and commercial carriers on how we can solve this problem.

Gary Brantley, Chief Information Officer for the City of Atlanta is the featured guest speaker with additional presentations by Tameka Allen, Augusta Information Technology Director; Jim Stritzinger, President & CEO, Revolution D, INC; and James Lunsford, IT Director, Richmond County School System.
