North Augusta Chamber Presents Awards at Annual Meeting

The North Augusta Chamber of Commerce presented their 69th Annual Meeting & Banquet: Chamber in Focus: Seeing 20/20 in 2020 March 6th at the Crowne Plaza North Augusta. The Chamber’s premier event saw a packed crowd of 300 attendees.  
 
The Chamber presented three awards: Ambassador of the Year, Citizen of the Year and Ambassador of the Year.
 
Lee Byrd was presented the award for 2019 Ambassador of the Year. The Ambassador of the Year award honors a Chamber Ambassador who has volunteered many hours of time, talent and energy to the success and growth of the North Augusta Chamber.  He consistently supports the Chamber at various events each month and is always willing to pitch in where he can. He is a team player who’s always goes above and beyond for the organization whenever he can. He is the true embodiment of a dedicated volunteer.  Retired from the Veterans Administration, Lee currently serves as Senior Vice-Commander of Riverfront Marines, Detachment #1132. Congratulations Lee!
 
Dr. Angela Burkhalter was presented the award for 2019 Citizen of the Year. Dr. Burkhalter is an active leader in the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, serving for almost forty years as a teacher in adult Bible Study, a member of the Personnel Committee and other teaching and supervisory roles as well as a member of the Dove award winning Sanctuary Choir. She is a long-standing member of the North Augusta Cultural Arts Council and was integral in reviving theater arts in our community. She has devoted much time and enthusiasm as Past President and current board member of the Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta, assisting with obtaining permanent space in the North Augusta Municipal Building. Other Board participation past and present include: Laces of Love, Child Advocacy Center of Aiken, Public Education Partners, North Augusta Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Partnership, Megiddo Dream Station and Community Ministries of North Augusta. Congratulations Dr. Burkhalter!

Under a new generation of leadership, they are a shining example of hard work and heart, as they’ve shown steady growth over the last three years. From enhanced techniques to improvements in technology. This business prides itself on being based in family and faith. Three of their guiding principles are giving the best care, building the best team, and giving back to the community by donating their time and resources at local schools, churches and non-profit organizations in our area. Most importantly, this business is a STRONG supporter and partner with other local small businesses, often utilizing those businesses for their needs, both personal and professional.
