United Way of the CSRA Challenges Small Businesses

Press release from the issuing company

Tuesday, May 5th, 2015

Local small businesses are investing in our community in many ways to improve quality of life and offer opportunities for everyone.  By joining United Way of the CSRA’s 100 x $100 Small Business Challenge, small business leaders can contribute to the general health and well being of our community, an investment that always pays back.

The program seeks to engage 100 small businesses in contributing $100 each in order to raise a total of $10,000.  All small businesses can participate, and if $100 is just out of reach, a contribution of any size is certainly welcome.

In the CSRA, the vast majority of businesses are small businesses. They create the most jobs, they tend to be innovative, and they drive economic expansion.  By working together, CSRA’s small business community can help jumpstart United Way’s annual fundraising campaign and demonstrate their leadership by doing so.

United Way recently received its first $100 donation for the Challenge from Auben Realty.  Allen Bond, CEO of Auben Realty, said,  “The Small Business Challenge is a way for us to help make a difference in our community.  We wanted to make sure we were the first to step up to the challenge with hopes that other small businesses will follow in our steps.”

Contributors to the 100 x $100 Challenge will receive public recognition for their contributions at United Way of the CSRA’s Annual Campaign Kickoff in August, be listed on their website for a month, as well as listed in their Annual Report and Honor Roll publications. All donations are tax free, and all funds stay right here in the local community to address local needs.

Through participation in the United Way 100 x $100 Challenge, small businesses, their employees, and the vendors and clients that support them, will help to create lasting and sustainable change for those in need in the CSRA.  Please consider making a donation today by giving online at www.uwcsra.org or contacting United Way at 706-724-5544.  Thanks for your support.
