CSRA’s Best Chili Cooks Invited to “Bring It” During 5th Annual Chilly Chili Cook-off March 4th
Monday, January 23rd, 2017
Do you have what it takes to be named the best chili cook in the CSRA?
Whether it’s beefy or vegetarian, five-alarm hot or mild, Walton Foundation for Independence is looking for a few good cooks (and judges and volunteers) to bring it during the 5th annual Chilly Chili Cook-off on Saturday, March 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Evans Towne Centre Park, 7016 Evans Town Center Blvd.
Competitors can also enter to win prizes and bragging rights for the best stew/soup, best cornbread, most creative booth decorations and the coveted People’s Choice Award during the event, which is a fundraiser for Walton Foundation for Independence’s sports and leisure programs. The foundation serves hundreds of adults and children with disabilities across the CSRA through free clinics ranging from adaptive golf and tennis to waterskiing.
The public is invited too. General admission is $5 (cash only), and kids 12 and under are free. Admission includes unlimited tastings of chili, soup, stew and cornbread, with soft drinks and beer available for purchase. The public can also vote for their People’s Choice winner by dropping a dollar into canisters at each booth; each dollar equals one vote, with all proceeds going to WFI’s sports clinics.
Cooks, judges and volunteers are invited to sign up now by visiting www.waltonfoundation.net/chili. Questions? Contact Vicki Greene at 706-823-8584 or email [email protected].
