Unisys Corporation announced that HfS Research has named the company to the "Winner's Circle" in its report evaluating managed security services providers.

The HfS Blueprint Report: Managed Security Services 2017 provides a comparative analysis of innovation and execution capabilities among 13 major service providers. Those named to the Winners Circle are defined as showing competitive differentiation in "realizing the as-a-service economy of business outcome-oriented, on-demand talent and technology services." Winner's Circle providers also are characterized as having collaborative relationships with clients, an ability to articulate vision and a new way of thinking.

According to the report, Unisys provides a "strong business-led practice with a distinct perspective on how to tie security into future enterprise growth." The report notes specific strengths regarding the company's approach to security and client services, including:
  • Mission and purpose beyond asset protection: Unisys views security as a business priority, not only a technical one, and looks beyond perimeter-based security offerings.

  • Talent acquisition: As a result of this mission focus, Unisys attracts people who look beyond the technical aspects of security and can see a broader world view.

  • Vertical industry focus: Unisys continues to develop strong industry-specific security offerings across verticals such as financial services and the public sector.

  • Innovation and advanced security analytics: Unisys invests heavily in security analytics tools to detect and mitigate both new and existing threats before they can be damaging to a client. It also offers Unisys Stealth micro-segmentation software, which creates segments within an organization where only authorized users can access information, while others cannot even see that those segments exist.

"Unisys' vision for security as a business strength in a borderless world helps the company differentiate at a thought leadership level," said Christine Ferrusi Ross, research vice president, security and blockchain, HfS Research. "Its investments in industry expertise further bolster that business perspective, which HfS believes is needed as security becomes intertwined with all processes in order to improve the customer's experience."

"We have a longstanding commitment to excellence in managed security services," said Eric Hutto, senior vice president and president, Enterprise Solutions, at Unisys. "This 'Winners Circle' recognition highlights our ability to deliver MSS in a highly efficient and effective fashion for both governments and enterprises, in addition to providing proven security consulting, products, solutions, and services."
