Food 2 Fight Hunger Drive July 15th

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Friday, July 14th, 2017

Saturday, July 15th, The Salvation Army of the Greater Augusta Area will have its sixth annual Food 2 Fight Hunger drive. The Army will be collecting nonperishable goods at the Washington Kroger, the food collected will benefit The Salvation Army’s soup kitchen and food pantry. These donations are coming at a time of great need, as our food pantry is nearly empty. The summer months historically show a drop in donations and an increase in need; this year is no different.

Thanks to the CSRC community’s support and donations The Salvation Army’s soup kitchen is able to provide over 45,000 meals a year to those in need.

Most Needed Items:

High protein foods (peanut butter, canned beans, meats & stews)

Canned fruits and juices

Canned vegetables

Breakfast items (cereal, oatmeal and pancake mix)

Infant formula and baby food.
