Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Friday, July 7th, 2017

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Jonathan Davis, our Director of Workforce Initiatives, has been awarded a year-long fellowship with the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. Jonathan was accepted as a Fellow for the fourth cohort of the ACCE Fellowship for Education Attainment, and will represent the Augusta Metro Chamber in this emerging peer network of chamber leaders working to improve the cradle-to-career education pipeline within their communities.

The Fellowship is designed to be highly interactive and is grounded in peer-to-peer learning. Throughout the year-long term as a Fellow, participants engage in facilitated education and workforce development consultations, gain access to best practices and case studies, interact with national experts, and build a strong peer-to-peer network.

Furthermore, fellows develop and execute plans for specific educational attainment objectives in the form of a regional action project. In many cases, these RAPs represent the planning stages of an on-going, long-term initiative.

“We are very excited he was accepted into the program…and we look forward to his participation in peer-to-peer learning from other chambers and experts in the field” says Sue Parr, Augusta Metro Chamber President/CEO.

As the Chamber’s Director of Workforce Initiatives, Jonathan is responsible for implementing services, programs and initiatives that support the goal of a prepared and trained workforce meeting the needs of regional business. He is also tasked with establishing the Chamber as an active advocate for championing workforce readiness in the region by fostering relationships between educational and training institutions and regional businesses. Jonathan began his role with the Chamber in March 2017.
