Georgia Employers’ Association is pleased to announce that Judge Elizabeth Gobeil, Director at the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation, will be a speaker at the upcoming Workers Compensation Symposium in Augusta on August 24.

Judge Gobeil was appointed to the Board of Workers’ Compensation in November of 2012. Members of the Board are directly involved with workers’ compensation appeals and reviews. They also work with an advisory council to develop policies and laws that affect workers’ compensation processes in Georgia. Judge Gobeil will participate in a panel discussion of workers’ compensation experts. Attendees will be able to ask questions of Judge Gobeil and of experts in the legal and medical aspects of workers’ compensation.

The Workers’ Comp Symposium is sponsored by GEA, Piedmont Orthopaedic Complex, and Constangy, Brooks, Smith, & Prophete, LLP. Attendees will leave with a framework for a comprehensive, scalable plan for a cost-effective workers’ compensation program.  Online registration is available for the Symposium, scheduled from 9 – 3 pm at the Augusta Marriott on August 24.
