Upliff Among Those Presenting at October’s 1 Million Cups Gathering

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Monday, September 25th, 2017

Jonathan Larry, founder of the startup social network Upliff, based in Augusta, Georgia, will be among the featured speakers at the next 1 Million Cups gathering on Wed., Oct. 4 from 8 to 9 a.m. at theClubhou.se, located at 540 Telfair Street in downtown Augusta.

Entrepreneurs, innovators, funders and all other interested community members are invited to attend the free event—served with coffee by Buona Caffe and donuts by Belair Donuts—which is designed to help build startup communities on a grassroots level.

Jonathan will introduce Upliff and talk about the problems the online community solves and the impact it can have on a local and global level. Upliff is a platform where users are invited to share what’s good in their own life, their community and around the world. The company’s goal is to uplift and help people see life in a more positive way.

“1 Million Cups is a great opportunity for local entrepreneurs to share what they’ve been working on,” said Jonathan. “If you’re interested in what’s happening in the Augusta area’s growing startup community, I encourage you to connect with 1 Million Cups.”

1 Million Cups is a national program designed to engage, educate and connect local entrepreneurs and mentors, based on the notion that entrepreneurs network and discover solutions over a million cups of coffee. One Wednesday a month, two early-stage startups present their companies to an audience of mentors, advisors and other entrepreneurs. Each founder presents for six minutes, followed by a 20-minute question-and-answer session with the audience.

Any business less than five years old can present to the audience. Each company will be videotaped and have the opportunity to present at other 1 Million Cups across the country. To apply to present, visit www.1millioncups.com/augusta.
