Since 2010, Queensborough National Bank & Trust and Golden Harvest Food Bank have come together to get much-needed food and other nonperishable items to at-risk communities throughout the CSRA through their mobile pantry. In each area they visit, other local food pantries, civic groups and churches help to reach the families who are in need.

This year, Queensborough, with the help of Golden Harvest, hosted 13 mobile pantry events, the most they’ve hosted in one year since the partnership began. Families in Jefferson, Screven, Burke, Washington, Columbia, Richmond, Emanuel, and McDuffie counties were all able to receive food through the mobile pantry.

“At Q, we are passionate about being involved in the communities that we work and live in. It’s an honor to work with Golden Harvest in the fight to end hunger,” said Amy Jones, marketing manager for Queensborough.

Through this team effort with Golden Harvest, Queensborough has served 2,522 households, and distributed over 83,000 lbs. of food this year, and they are hoping to expand their efforts even more in 2018.
