Justice Britt C. Grant of the Supreme Court of Georgia has been elected to the American Law Institute, a national organization that produces scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and improve the law. Justice Grant was one of 44 new members from around the country who were elected to the prestigious institute earlier this month.

Members of the American Law Institute have the opportunity to influence the development of the law in both existing and emerging areas by drafting, revising, and publishing Model Codes, Principles of Law, and Restatements of the Law, bodies of work that are influential in the courts and legislatures, as well as in legal scholarship and education.

Justice Grant, 39, was appointed to Georgia’s highest court Jan. 1, 2017 by Gov. Nathan Deal.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, she served as Solicitor General for the State of Georgia.
