'Greater Augusta Day' Brings Community Leaders to State Capitol

On Thursday, February 1, a group of more than 40 public and private sector leaders from the region will travel to Atlanta to participate in ‘Greater Augusta Day’ at the Capitol. The trip is a collaborative effort of the Augusta Metro, Burke County and Columbia County Chambers of Commerce.

This annual trip, held during the session of the Georgia General Assembly, is a regional initiative aimed at advocating for legislative issues that are important to the Greater Augusta Region. Participants also use the opportunity to strategically highlight the existing economic strengths of our region for future business and commerce.

Highlights of the day’s itinerary include:

• Panel discussion on Hull McKnight Georgia Cyber Center for Innovation & Training

• Afternoon meetings with the Honorable Lt. Governor Casey Cagle and the HonorableSpeaker of the House Representative David Ralston

• Updates from Georgia Department of Transportation and Georgia Board of Regents

• Legislative discussions with Greater Augusta Delegation
