Thursday, April 12th, 2018

Columbia County Water Utility drinking Water Plants, and all four Columbia County Water Utility Wastewater Plants are pleased to announce that they have been recognized by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals for their permit requirement compliance. The water plants and wastewater plants are recipients of the Platinum Award.

The award represents all the water and wastewater plants in the state that have met their permit requirements set by the Environmental Protection Division for the year of 2017. A plant receives a Gold Award for each year in compliance. On year five of consecutive years in compliance, the award becomes a Platinum Award.

The awards help show the dedication and commitment from our staff at each facility. These plants supply Columbia County’s customers with safe healthy drinking water, and keep the county’s environment safe and healthy with the water that is returned to the creeks, streams and river.
