Raphael Bostic, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, will meet with community and business leaders in Augusta on Wednesday, May 16. The Atlanta Fed recently launched an outreach initiative to share its economic and community development research with communities outside metro Atlanta and its five branch cities. Bostic and the Atlanta Fed’s Community and Economic Development Team will meet with Augusta leaders to obtain information and insights for place-based initiatives related to workforce development, affordable housing and small cities community development financing.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is part of the central bank of the United States and has branch offices in Birmingham, Jacksonville, Miami, Nashville, and New Orleans.
The Mayor’s Office and Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce partnered to organize the one-day agenda for Bostic’s visit, which will feature a large-audience forum, small roundtable discussions, and a tour of the Cyber Innovation and Training Center.
“The City of Augusta is proud to welcome President Bostic and the Community and Economic Development Team from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. This visit by the leadership of the Atlanta Fed offers an opportunity for unprecedented collaboration in Augusta, and I look forward to a productive and fruitful series of meetings with our partners,” said Mayor Hardie Davis.
