The Salvation Army of Augusta Deploys to South Carolina

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Tuesday, September 18th, 2018

An Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) Team from the Salvation Army of Augusta deployed over the weekend to South Carolina in response to Hurricane Florence.

The EDS Team deployed early Sunday morning from Augusta and are expected to serve in Conway, South Carolina for up to two weeks. The Augusta EDS Team will join forces with other Salvation Army units to provide food, hydration, emotional and spiritual support to those impacted by Hurricane Florence and first responders.

In times of crisis, members from The Salvation Army of Augusta's EDS Team are deployed to help meet human needs. Last year several representatives were deployed to Texas in response to Hurricane Harvey. Shortly afterwards, they returned to Georgia to help respond to Hurricane Irma.

In times of disaster, the best way to help survivors and relief workers is to make a financial contribution. Monetary donations allow disaster responders to immediately meet the specific needs of disaster survivors.
