theClubhou.se’s successful Code Boot Camp has already enabled four classes of students to find new careers in coding and web development or related fields. For 2019, it’s offering three sessions of its three-month Code Boot Camp, designed for those who are under- or unemployed.

Applications are open now at www.augustacodeschool.com. Classes for the 5th cohort begin on January 14 and end on April 19; classes for the 6th cohort begin on June 3 and end August 30; and classes for the 7th cohort begin on September 7 and end December 13. The program is Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to theClubhou.se, entry-level full stack web developers in the CSRA can earn between $35,000 and $45,000. “Our three-month Code Boot Camp is an intensive program for a reason,” said Chase Lanier, Education Director at theClubhou.se.  ”It’s designed to specifically to allow interested applicants to quickly master the skills necessary for a potential new role as a junior full-stack web developer.”

theClubhou.se Code Boot Camp teaches six fundamentals within four core disciplines:

·      The Fundamentals (HTML/CSS): Our first core discipline will focus on the display layer of the internet. In this course module, we’ll focus on using HTML and CSS to render content to the user’s browser. This foundational technology will be used as the primary core output for the remainder of the code school. You’ll learn the most common HTML tags used in web development, how to manipulate their styles with CSS, and how to design and interact with existing themes and pre-built templates for rapid prototyping and development.

·      Persistence and Processing (PHP and MySQL/MariaDB): The second core discipline will introduce the fundamentals of your first programming language and the basics of database design and implementation. This course module will gradually introduce programming concepts and prepare you to query, process, and render data stored inside a persistent database.

·      The Interactivity (Javascript): Our third major discipline will be a focus on the connectivity language behind every major browser. In the “Programming Interactivity with Javascript” module, we’ll focus on adding real-time interactivity to your web applications and using Javascript and AJAX techniques to dynamically load content without reloading the web page.

·      The Server Stack (Ubuntu Linux and the Cloud): Throughout this entire course, you’ll learn the ins and outs of installing, updating, configuring, and managing cloud-based virtual private servers through your own private Digital Ocean web server running Ubuntu Linux. You’ll learn basic command-line navigational commands and techniques to spin up servers for Apache, MySQL (or MariaDB), PHP, and more.

At the conclusion of the Boot Camp, students will attend a job fair where they can share their work and engage with possible future employers.
