The Salvation Army Aims to Beat the Heat May 18th

The Salvation Army's annual Cans, Fans & Bottled Water Drive will be taking place this Saturday, May 18th from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Employees and volunteers of the Salvation Army will be stationed in front of the Wal-Mart in Evans accepting donations of canned food, electric fans and bottled water.

The Augusta Bike Coalition will also be participating in the event. They will meet at the Wal-Mart in Evans to purchase cans, fans and bottled water that will be donated towards the drive. The group will deliver the items to the Center of Hope, 1384 Greene Street, around noon. The media is invited to cover the arrival of the ABC Ride.
 
Donations will be given to local families in need. Augusta faces extreme heat during the summer months and these donations will be used to help families stay cool and hydrated.
