Columbia County Chamber To Host Teachers In Business Day Friday

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will host its Teachers In Business Day on Friday, September 27.
 
A partnership of the Columbia County Chamber Foundation and the Columbia County School System, Teachers In Business Day is a coordinated tour of local businesses for 50 Columbia County educators. Since 2013, the Chamber has hosted this program with various groups of educators such as principals, CTAE teachers, STEM teachers and guidance counselors.
 
The program, presented by The Development Authority of Columbia County, is focused on various industries and the career needs of each. The goal of the program is to understand the career opportunities available within a variety of companies and industries in our own region.
 
The participants will begin the day at the Columbia County Chamber Office with a breakfast and overview, followed with a presentation given by Savannah River Nuclear Solutions and John Deere. The fifty educators will be divided into the following career pathways: Healthcare, Cyber & Computer Science, Communication & Manufacturing, Law & Public Safety, and Government Administration.
 
Companies participating in this year’s program include: Augusta University, Hilltop Veterinary, Club Car, Janus, Georgia Cyber Center, IntelliGenesis, Security Onion, Alliance for Fort Gordon, The Club.House, The Miller Theater, Tranter Grey and Columbia County Judicial Center, Sheriff’s Office, Traffic Center, Emergency Department, Fire Department, Roads & Bridges and Water Treatment Plant.
