Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Thursday, April 9th, 2020

On Thursday, April 9, the Augusta Metro Chamber will host an informational webinar that will provide tips for parents who are managing work productivity while providing education to their child/children.  Hear from Dr. Malinda Cobb with Richmond County Board of Education, Ivy Ingram and Leroy Gibson with 9owl Educational Solutions, LLC, and Candace Garrett, a Homeschool Mom, as they share tools to best educate your child/children at home, tips to help you stay organized and on task, and provide resources you can utilize to successfully homeschool while maintaining optimum work productivity.

Dr. Malinda Cobb is the Associate Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology for Richmond County Board of Education.  As Richmond County students began learning from home in mid-March, Malinda was in charge of implementing the county’s Distance Learning Program, program encouraging learning through a variety of methods, not just worksheets and busy work.

Educational consultants and coaches, Ivy Ingram and Leroy Gibson with 9owl Educational Solutions, LLC have over 15 years in the K-12 and higher education.  Their process is designed to collaborate with your team and students in efforts to empower and outfit them with the tools they need to succeed.

Candace Garrett, a former teacher, is a parent with first-hand experience in homeschooling.  As Camp Director for Camp F.L.A.W.L.E.S.S., a one-month camp catered to kids on the spectrum, Candace encourages kids with Autism to just be themselves and reminds them how flawless they are.

These virtual events are part of the Augusta Metro Chamber’s Achieving More Virtually Web Series and are hosted on GoToWebinar, a platform for businesses to create and deliver online events and videoconferences in an engaging environment.  Visit augustametrochamber.com/events for further webinar details and registration information.
