Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Monday, May 11th, 2020

As our business community approaches two months adjusting and adapting to the effects of the pandemic and its disruption to the economy, the Augusta Metro Chamber’s focus from the beginning has been to be a relevant source of actionable information for our members.  In order to provide resources and help our members on a path to recovery, the Chamber launched the Achieving More Virtually Web Series, a twice-weekly webinar series designed to provide informative and instructional virtual events to support the success of our members.  The Thursday, May 7th webinar with State Representative Dr. Mark Newton, CEO of MedNow Urgent Care, marked a fifteen-event milestone for the Chamber’s web series.

The web series has covered everything from ‘How to Lead and Manage a Remote Workforce’ and ‘Essential & Non-Essential Business’ to ‘Tips for Working Parents to Successfully Homeschool’ and has reached everyone from small businesses and non-profit organizations to large manufacturing companies.  As part of the extensive panel of guest speakers, the Chamber is pleased to have hosted Commissioner Mark Butler with the Georgia Department of Labor and representatives from the UGA Small Business Development Center, as well as participated in Mayor Davis’ COVID-19 Small Business Town Hall.

The Achieving More Virtually Web Series is part of the Chamber’s larger mission of Achieving More Together Today, a daily communication designed to keep our members engaged, positive and energized as we join together to unite and support the success of each other.  To learn more about the Chamber’s mission, to get daily updates and to view a full library of the web series recordings, please visit AugustaMetroChamber.com.
