Staff Report

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020

Edgar’s Hospitality Group (EHG) will celebrate the opening of Edgar’s Above Broad with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9 a.m. The rooftop restaurant and entertainment venue is located on the third floor at 699 Broad Street. Social distancing and local guidelines regarding face covering and occupancy limits are observed in the venue.

The new 17,000 square foot restaurant - with seating up to 500 at full capacity - is the second hospitality venue in the building affiliated with EHG, which also manages The Pinnacle Club on the 17th floor. Opening earlier this month for dinner, Edgar’s Above Broad rolls out its breakfast and lunch menu on Wednesday.

The evening fare of tapas and craft cocktails has been a hit with guests, who have also appreciated the terrace amenities of live music alongside a bocce ball court, a giant checkers board and a putting green. The breakfast and lunch menu features quick service items including specialty coffees, parfaits, fresh fruit, an extensive list of sandwiches and salads and assorted sweets.

“At Edgar’s Hospitality Group, we operate under the mantra, ‘Come Hungry. Leave Fulfilled,’” said James Stiff, President of Goodwill of Middle Georgia, the umbrella organization for Edgar’s Hospitality Group. EHG venues provide unique experiential learning opportunities for culinary students of Helms College, the career college sponsored by Goodwill. Both entities were named in honor of Goodwill’s social enterprise founder, Rev. Edgar Helms. “When you enjoy the food and atmosphere here, you help others build new career pathways.”

In addition to the venues at 699 Broad Street, Edgar’s Hospitality Group manages Augusta-favorite Edgar’s Grille and meeting and event space Snelling Conference Center. In Macon, EHG operates the Anderson Conference Center and Edgar’s Bistro.

Edgar’s Above Broad is open Wednesday through Friday. Dinner is served Wednesday and Thursday from 5-10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight. Starting Wednesday, breakfast and lunch will be served Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
