In 2020, 6 Richmond County High Schools exceeded the state graduation rate, while 9 high schools had a graduation rate above 80%.

The Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School and Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School had 100% graduation rates. Josey High School, Hephzibah High School, Cross Creek High School, Butler High School and the Academy of Richmond County each posted their highest graduation rates in 10 or more years.

“This is great news and we have more work to do,” said Dr. Kenneth Bradshaw, Superintendent of Schools. “As we focus on student academic achievement, our core work is to prepare our students for life beyond the classroom. Graduation rates give us one tool to measure our progress and identify opportunities to better teach and serve our students.”

The class of 2020 graduated during the COVID-19 pandemic at school based graduation celebrations. “The resilience of the class of 2020 continues to show,” Bradshaw added. “These students finished their K-12 education strong and we are proud of their work, flexibility and accomplishments.”
