All Richmond County School System (RCSS) schools will resume Face to Face and virtual instruction the week of January 11, 2021.

Students in K-8 schools, middle and high schools will return on January 12. The Richmond County School System is working closely with the Georgia Department of Public Healthto monitor coronavirus activity in our community to ensure the proper recommendations are followed to act in the best interest of our students, teachers and staff.

If your student has tested positive for coronavirus, has been instructed to quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure, has COVID-19 symptoms, is waiting to be tested for COVID-19 or is awaiting results of a COVID-19 test, please keep them at home and notify the school of their status.

Pick up for bus delivery of meals for virtual learners will resume on Friday, January 8. School kitchen meal pick up will also resume Friday, January 8.

Teachers will return for four work days, January 5-8, to prepare for the start of the new semester. Parents can find more information at rcboe.org or on individual school websites. Student specific schedules and information can be accessed in Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

With more than 60 percent of the district’s students returning for Face to Face instruction, RCSS will continue to require students wear masks on buses, in hallways and other transitions where social distancing and contact tracing may be difficult to accomplish.  Other safety protocols to support a safer school environment for staff and face to face students include assigned seating in classrooms and on buses.  The school system also requests parents and staff implement a daily home screening procedure and stay home if they are sick.
