Delta Air Lines has been named an honoree of The Civic 50 by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. The award recognizes Delta as one of the 50 most community-minded companies in the U.S. This is the fourth year in a row Delta has been named to the list and the only airline named again this year.

“Connecting the world by giving back to the communities where we live, work and serve is core to Delta’s culture, and we are honored to be named to the Points of Light Civic 50 for the fourth year in a row, but especially in a year where volunteering and service took on a whole new meaning during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Even in a pandemic, Delta and our employees did their part to help make the world a better place,” said Delta’s Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director – Community Engagement.

Natalye Paquin, President and CEO of Points of Light, added, “Points of Light believes that corporate leadership and commitment to civic engagement is critical to strengthening communities. We thank Delta Air Lines for their investment in the communities where they live and work, and look forward to supporting them in leveraging their time, talent and assets to make transformational change.”

The Civic 50 provides a national standard for superior corporate citizenship and showcases how companies can use their time, skills and other resources to impact the communities in which they do business. The Civic 50 honorees are public and private companies with U.S. operations and are selected based on four dimensions of their U.S. community engagement program including investment, integration, institutionalization and impact.

Since it was launched in 2012, The Civic 50 has provided a roadmap for good corporate citizenship and showcases how committed companies are moving social impact, civic engagement and community to the center of their business. The survey is administered by True Impact, a company specializing in helping organizations maximize and measure their social and business value, and consists of quantitative and multiple-choice questions that inform the scoring process. The Civic 50 is the only survey and ranking system that exclusively measures corporate involvement in communities.
