Columbia County Chamber Foundation & School District to Host Counselor Lunch & Learn Series

Thursday, October 28th, 2021

The Columbia County Chamber Foundation, a 501(c)(3) within the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, will host the first of six Counselor Lunch & Learn Series on October 28 at GIW Minerals.

In partnership with the Columbia County School District, the Chamber Foundation is implementing a new series for the 2021-2022 school year called Counselor Lunch & Learns as a program of Educators in Business, formerly known as Teachers in Business. There will be six total programs that allow one counselor from each of the thirteen middle and high schools in the district to attend on that particular date in October, November, January, February, March, and April.

The program, presented by The Development Authority of Columbia County, is focused on providing counselors a unique opportunity to learn and build relationships with local businesses. The program is sensitive to COVID protocols by taking smaller groups on these tours.

The participants will begin the day at GIW Minerals at 11:00 a.m. with a presentation from The Development Authority of Columbia County, following with a lunch provided by GIW Minerals. The counselors will be given a facility tour and then will have an opportunity to ask questions during a question and answer session with various employees from different departments. The day will conclude at 2:00 p.m..
