Augusta Metro Chamber Economic Luncheon to Recognize the 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Dr. Tony Robinson, of Augusta University, will be the keynote speaker at the Member Economic Luncheon, occurring on Wednesday, December 16, at the Augusta Marriott Hotel. Dr. Robinson will speak on “The Power of Entrepreneurial Leadership.”

Holding a PhD in Strategic Management, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Organizational Change, Dr. Robinson serves on the faculty in the Hull College of Business and teaches management, marketing, and entrepreneurship courses. His research focuses on the areas of management and entrepreneurship and includes Innovation Activity in Entrepreneurial Firms:  Endogenous Technological Firm Attributes and Exogenous Environmental Factors and Overconfidence and Risk Perceptions: Do They Really Matter for Venture Creation Decisions. His conference proceedings include presentations at the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference, the Strategic Management Society, and the Academy of Management.

Dr. Robinson spoke at the 2012 GHSU Diversity Summit, the 2012 University System of Georgia Annual EEO Conference, the 2011 CSRA State of the Region, and was a past keynote speaker for the Augusta Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He serves in various leadership positions in the community to include Chair of the Board of the Wilson Family Y, the United Way where he serves as the Marketing Chair, Junior Achievement, Leadership Augusta, and the Technology Association of Georgia.

Also at the luncheon, the Chamber will honor the 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year. This award recognizes an individual in the Augusta business community who has distinguished themselves by their success in business, their creativity, innovative spirit and community involvement. To be nominated, an entrepreneur must be in operation for at least one year and a member of the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce.

This event is $35 for members of the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and $40 for the general public.
