United Way of the CSRA Welcomes New President

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Tuesday, July 24th, 2018

United Way of the CSRA is proud to welcome Brittany Burnett as its new President and CEO.  Ms. Burnett will be working alongside LaVerne Gold, outgoing president, until Ms. Gold’s retirement on August 9, 2018.

Ms. Burnett comes to United Way with more than 14 years of fundraising, strategic planning, management, and leadership experience in the non-profit sector. Over 11 years was spent at United Way of Greater Atlanta, one of the largest United Ways in the country.  For the past three years, she served as Vice President of Development with CHRIS 180, a non-profit organization in the Atlanta area which helps children, young adults, and families who have experienced trauma.

Although she held numerous roles within both organizations, she continued to directly manage fundraising activities in each position. This allowed her to remain on the 'front line' with donors and other stakeholders. As a community-minded strategic planner, she has experience with annual fundraising, donor cultivation, board management, special events, and effective communications.

United Way’s Board Chair, Scott Elledge, says, “On behalf of the United Way of the CSRA Board of Directors and staff, we are very excited to have Brittany Burnett’s work ethic, leadership, and commitment to community here in the CSRA.  We are looking forward to Brittany leading the organization into the future and building on the legacy of LaVerne Gold.  Brittany is committed to the values of United Way and to fulfilling the needs of our local community.  She’s a champion of new ideas and solutions, and we are excited to have her on the United Way of the CSRA Team.”
