The Augusta Metro Chamber is honored to announce Rebecca Darwin, cofounder & CEO of Garden & Gun magazine as the keynote speaker for their 2020 Women In Business Signature Event.  Join us Wednesday, November 18 at the Miller Theater for Best of the South: An Evening with Rebecca Darwin as we take guests off Zoom and into a room full of successful, southern professionals.  Rebecca’s words of wisdom from her astonishing career and her stories of other Best in the South women will inspire us to continue writing our own stories of success.

Rebecca Wesson Darwin is cofounder & CEO of the Allée Group LLC, formed with partners Pierre Manigault and J. Edward Bell III.  After moving to Charleston, SC, following a successful career in publishing in New York City, Darwin and cofounder Manigault realized there was a need for a publication that spoke to the soul of the South.  For over a decade, Garden & Gun has consistently been recognized as an industry leader including #2 hottest launch of 2007 among more than 700 magazines that were started that year; and 2011 and 2015 National Magazine Awards in General Excellence.

Darwin grew up in Columbia, SC, attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and then moved to New York.  She established her career at GQ and later became the first female publisher of the New Yorker, the publisher of Mirabella, and the marketing director of Fortune.  She has served as the president and CEO of the National Association for Female Executives, and her immersion in the worlds of media, fashion, advertising and business brings an understanding and grace to the world of Garden & Gun.

Event begins at 5:30 pm.  Tickets are $35 for Chamber members, $45 for prospective members, and includes hors d'oeuvres and two drink tickets prior to event official start.  All attendees will receive a hot off the press edition of an upcoming issue of Garden & Gun magazine.  Advanced registration is required at AugustaMetroChamber.com/events.  Seating is limited.  Seats will be socially distanced, and masks are required.
