Tuesday, June 29th, 2021

Augusta Technical College's Economic Development Division will host its inaugural Mid-Year CSRA Economic Outlook Event on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 3pm in the Jack B. Patrick Information Technology Center Auditorium located on Augusta Tech’s main campus.

Dr. David E. Altig, Executive Vice President and Director of Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, will be the keynote speaker for this event. In addition to advising the Bank president on monetary policy and related matters, Dr. Altig oversees the Bank's Research Division, which includes the Bank's team of economists, the Regional Economic Information Network, and the Bank's Community and Economic Development function.

Dr. Altig will provide national, regional, and local (CSRA) economic forecasts for the remainder of the 2021 calendar year. Topics will include GDP, inflation, interest rates, international trade, monetary policy, unemployment and the effects of COVID-19 in the economy.

As part of the nation’s central banking system, the Atlanta Fed supports the monetary policy process by engaging business, banking, and community leaders throughout the district to gain a real-time understanding of the state of the economy and the challenges facing local communities.

“We are pleased to host this inaugural mid-year economic outlook event with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta," stated College President Dr. Jermaine Whirl. "The pandemic has made business decision making and forecasting difficult for many organizational executives. This mid-year update will be timely, informative, and engaging for our CSRA business leaders."

This event is free, but participants must RSVP to attend. Clickhere to reserve your seat today.
