North Augusta Chamber Provides Legislative Update at A.M. Connection

What happened during the most recent South Carolina state legislative session?

Attendees at the North Augusta Chamber A.M. Connection got an informative update from Senator Tom Young and Rep. Bill Hixon on August 27th. Young and Hixon gave a brief, but detailed summary of the latest session, giving extra priority to the matters that most affect local residents of North Augusta and Aiken County. The duo addressed such matters as road maintenance, Common Core and the Penny Sales Tax option.  Congressman Joe Wilson kicked off his bus tour’s day in Aiken at the event and gave a brief update concerning matters in Washington, D.C. Michelle Jones, Chamber Chair, announced the Chamber Board’s unanimous decision to support the Penny Sales Tax Option in Aiken County.
