Serenity Massage + Wellness Spa Ribbon Cutting on March 19th

Press release from the issuing company

Wednesday, February 25th, 2015

Serenity Massage + Wellness Spa is celebrating their new location with an Open House/Ribbon Cutting event on Thursday, March 19th from 4:00pm – 7:00pm.  Serenity has been in business since 1998 and this move, to a stand-alone and larger building, is the third growth spurt the business has seen in their 17 years of providing the CSRA with the best in therapeutic massage services.  The business started off in a small 800 square foot {3 room} suite in the Augusta Business Center on Shartom Drive behind Applebee’s on Washington Road.  In 2005, they expanded to a larger location in the Le Pavilion Plaza down the street on Washington Road.  This move gave them 5 treatment rooms, an office, lobby and a work room area and almost doubled the square footage to 1,500 sq. ft.

Business owner, Laurie Pratt, looked at the idea of purchasing one of the up and coming massage franchises in 2010 but after investigating the fees/rules/stipulations, etc.; she decided Serenity already had its own successful working module and duplicated it on her own when she expanded into Evans, Georgia.  December 5th, 2010 was the date the new location official opened.  This second location was also 1,500 square feet with 5 treatment rooms.  By being the only two location spa in the area, Serenity Massage + Wellness Spa takes pride in their reputation for providing consistent, quality and results-oriented massage services.  They are also proud of the fact that their prices are well below others in the market in an attempt to ease the burden on one’s pocketbook so they can afford to incorporate therapeutic massage into their daily health and wellness program.

Ms. Pratt stays abreast of all the changes in regulation happening in the industry by serving on the Board of Directors for the American Massage Therapy Association – Georgia Chapter (AMTA-GA).  This past weekend Pratt was elected to serve as both the Treasurer and a Delegate for a 2 year term.  She will represent the voices of all 1,180 licensed massage therapists, in the state of Georgia, when the House of Delegates (HOD) meets at their National Convention in August 2015.  This year’s convention will be held in Pittsburgh, PA.  Laurie has been practicing massage therapy since 2003 and actually purchased Serenity before she had even graduated from her vocational school program.  Her previous experience in business and marketing have helped her grow the business revenues from under $100K to almost half a million in the time she has been the owner.  Other than herself, Serenity is also providing incomes for 9 other individuals.  Serenity plans on expanding their service menu soon as they have hired on an aesthetician who will start right after Masters’ Week.

If you have time to stop in to see their beautiful newly renovated building at 3406 Middleton Drive – one block South of the Washington and Pleasant Home Roads intersection (off Pleasant Home); please join them on March 19th for some refreshments and snacks.  In the meantime you can visit their website at:  http://www.serenityaugusta.com or stay of with their daily activities and specials on their Facebook page.
