Augusta Metro Chamber Announces U.S. Senator David Perdue as Keynote Speaker for Annual Meeting

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Wednesday, January 27th, 2016

Georgia’s Junior Senator David Perdue will be the featured speaker for the Augusta Metro Chamber’s 108th Annual Meeting on February 18th at the Augusta Marriott Hotel at the Convention Center. The dinner event also includes the traditional passing of the gavel recognizing the organization’s volunteer leadership, its accomplishments and strategic priorities for the upcoming year.

Senator Perdue has over 40 years of business experience as the former CEO of Reebok Brand and Dollar General, where he created thousands of quality jobs and helped working families make it from payday to payday. He is currently the only Fortune 500 CEO serving in the United States Senate.

In 2014, he won a decisive victory to the U.S. Senate, despite having never before been elected to office, on the promise that he will fight for term limits for politicians, help rein in out-of-control spending, grow the economy, create jobs, and tackle our nation's debt crisis.

For the 114th Congress, Senator Perdue serves on the Agriculture, Budget, Foreign Relations, and Judiciary Committees. He was also tapped to lead two important subcommittees and serves as Chairman of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on the State Department and USAID Management as well as the Agriculture Subcommittee on Conservation, Forestry and Natural Resources.
