The Clinic for Prosthetic Restoration at Augusta University is the latest beneficiary of Walton Foundation for Independence’s Community Outreach Fund.

The fund is designated to provide support to nonprofit organizations with missions that parallel Walton Foundation’s own: to serve people with disabilities in Augusta-Richmond, Columbia and Aiken counties.

Vicki Greene, Vice President of the Walton Foundation for Independence, presented clinic director Amanda Behr with a check for $10,000. The funds will go to support equipment, including a Carver Press and 3D scanner, that allows the clinic to produce prosthetics for the eyes, face and more for patients who have been treated for cancer, congenital conditions or other medical conditions.

“On behalf of the Clinic for Prosthetic Restoration and the Georgia Regents Health Professions Associates, Inc., I am honored and humbled to accept the generous financial gift for equipment from the Walton Foundation for Independence,” said Behr. “The gift provides the opportunity to integrate efficiency that would not have been otherwise possible. Thank you for your generous support!”
