Cabela’s Outdoor Fund Gives to Local Organization

Cabela’s announced that Cabela’s Outdoor Fund will present a grant to Camp Tanglewood in support of their efforts contributing to local outdoor activities and outdoor enthusiasts.
 
The presentation of gear will occur promptly at 4:00 p.m. Friday January 19, 2018. Representatives from the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia and a troop will be in attendance as Courtney Davis invites reporters to visit the store for this photo opportunity. The gear being donated consists of camping and fishing supplies for use at Camp Tanglewood which has been a retreat into the wilderness in the heart of our community for the past seventy years.
 
Cabela’s Outdoor Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to efforts that promote and protect hunting, shooting sports, trapping, fishing, camping and conservation. This fund is possible through donations from generous Cabela’s customers who choose to “round up” their purchases to the nearest dollar at Cabela’s stores. The Cabela’s Outdoor Fund contributes to other like-minded organizations in communities across the country working to make the great outdoors even better.
 
Along with supporting national efforts, Cabela’s Outdoor Fund provide grants through Cabela’s retail stores to local organizations such as the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia for their efforts in preserving and improving the outdoor lifestyle for future generations.
 
Girl Scouts was founded by Juliette Gordon Low on March 12, 1912 in Savannah, Georgia. Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia believes in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) to change the world, and offer a safe space for girls to take healthy risks, explore interests and connect with a powerful, supportive community of friends and mentors. GSHG delivers the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to over 13,000 girls in 119 counties across Georgia as well as two counties in South Carolina and one county in Alabama. Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
 
Camp Tanglewood sits on 184 acres of hilly woodland in Columbia County. From the low ropes course to the pool, lakes and creeks, Camp Tanglewood has something for everyone. Camp Tanglewood was also the recipient of a handicap equipped log cabin as part of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
