Chad Harpley, CEO of Premier Networx and incoming Chairman of the Board for the Augusta Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, participated in the national Sound the Alarm Save a Life event on May 5. The event, which includes the installation of hundreds of fire alarms in homes in communities around the country, has saved over 400 lives since it began in 2014.

Georgia has the highest home fire fatality rate in the country, and Augusta is ranked as one of the top three cities for home fire fatalities in the state.

“Our goal is to install 750 fire alarms in the Augusta area to make our community safer,” said Susan Everitt, Executive Director of American Red Cross of the Augusta Area. “We couldn’t make this happen without the help of volunteers and community partners like Premier Networx.”

In addition to Premier Networx and the local Red Cross chapter, Mayor Hardie Davis, Fire Chief Chris James and close to 100 local volunteers participated in the initiative.
