The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce has announced the formation of a political action committee to give a stronger, more influential voice to the business community.

The Columbia County Chamber PAC, founded for the purpose of engaging in certain activities to further the mission and purpose of the Chamber, provides the Chamber with an additional mechanism to take its advocacy role to the next level.

While the Chamber has been proactive in taking a stance on federal, state and local government issues that impact Columbia County and Greater Augusta businesses, the Chamber PAC -- for the first time -- can identify and support pro-business candidates and issues for state and local offices. The PAC’s mission is to identify, educate and support candidates and issues that are pro-business and provide growth and economic prosperity for this area.

The PAC’s Board of Directors, which consists of representatives from local businesses, includes Chair Reagan Williams, Meybohm Real Estate; Vice Chair Pat Goodwin, Marvin United Methodist Church; Treasurer William Cleveland, Cleveland Group CPAs; Robbie Moore, Blanchard & Calhoun Insurance; Ed Burr, University Hospital; Aubrey Nesbitt, Zaxby’s; and Brandon Haddock, Textron Specialized Vehicles.
