CEO of AUMC Named to GHA Board of Trustees

Lee Ann Liska, CEO of Augusta University Medical Center, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Hospital Association. She will serve as an at-large trustee, working with the Board to develop strategies for GHA hospital members, advocate for the highest quality care for patients, and support adequate reimbursement for hospitals.

“Lee Ann Liska is focused on quality and has a passion for improving health care for all Georgians,” said GHA President and CEO Earl Rogers. “She is an outstanding leader who brings a wealth of knowledge to the GHA Board. We look forward to her service.”

GHA serves more than 170 hospitals in Georgia and promotes the health and welfare of the public through the development of better hospital care for all Georgia’s citizens.

In addition to serving as CEO of AUMC, Liska is the executive vice president of health affairs at Augusta University. She is responsible for the oversight of clinical operations at AUMC, Children’s Hospital of Georgia, Roosevelt Warm Springs Rehabilitation and Specialty Hospitals, Georgia Correctional HealthCare and the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home.

Under her leadership, the hospital has achieved a financial turnaround, has improved patient satisfaction scores as well as  key patient quality and safety milestones, including reducing four of the most common hospital-associated infections. Additionally, Children’s Hospital of Georgia was ranked number one in the nation in pediatric quality and safety among 123 top academic medical centers, and the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home earned the 2018 Customer Experience Award from national customer satisfaction firm Pinnacle Quality Insight.

Prior to joining AUMC, Liska served as president and CEO of University of Cincinnati Medical Center and chief operating officer of Mercy Health in Cincinnati, Ohio.

A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Liska is an adjunct professor in the College of Allied Health Sciences of Augusta University. She serves on the boards of the American Heart Association and the United Way. She is a member of the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board and is a past member of the boards of the YWCA of Cincinnati, United Way of Greater Cincinnati and the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.
