South State Bank has donated $50,000 in support of the YMCA’s Camp Lakeside “Healing Through Joy” Capital Campaign to support improvements to the camp’s facilities in 2019 that are already underway.  The campaign will provide new cabin facilities that will increase capacity and camper comforts, as well as a new medical facility.  The medical facility will provide lodging for volunteer clinical staff and physicians during medical camps hosted throughout the year and include an in-house pharmacy.

“South State Bank is pleased to be a part of this project for Camp Lakeside for kids.  We’ve been a partner with the Y for many years and we support families and kids in need and the Y’s overall mission in the CSRA,” said Jay Forrester, South State Bank Division President.

“We are extremely grateful for South State Bank’s generosity in support of Healing Through Joy.  Their leadership and gift in the business community for camp helps to ensure that all kids, regardless of their physical or financial limitations, can experience camp for years to come,” said Danny McConnell, President and CEO, the Greater Augusta Family YMCA.
