Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Friday, May 17th, 2019

On June 1, 2019, The Central Savannah River Land Trust will host its 5th annual “Run for the Hills”, a 5K Trail Run on its Greystone Preserve in North Augusta. You are invited to come and conquer the hills on this private 262-acre nature preserve packed with mature oak-hickory forests, tranquil creeks with granite outcroppings, and endangered wildflowers. The trails course will lead you into the heart of this stunning landscape, through twists and turns, along the creeks and up over the mountainous terrain for an adventurous and breathtaking run (or walk if you prefer).

The Central Savannah River Land Trust is a nationally accredited, local non-profit focused on preserving the best of our exquisite landscape. Since 2001, the Land Trust has preserved over 9,000 acres in Georgia and South Carolina along the Savannah River basin. By permanently preserving these local landscapes, we are protecting our quality of life today and leaving our children a legacy that will last for generations

We encourage all those who love and appreciate the beautiful place in which we live to join the Land Trust on June 1 in celebration of National Trails Day. All proceeds benefit the preservation of additional landscapes throughout the CSRA. You may register at csrlt.org. Prizes are awarded to the top runners in each category. Challenge yourself by participating in the best trail run in the CSRA!
