Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Thursday, September 5th, 2019

Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) is proud to host the First Annual Meet-a-Machine benefitting the University Health Care Foundation and The Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. AGS will provide the community a free event to raise funds benefitting the Miracle Mile Walk (University Health Care Foundation) and the Children’s Miracle Network (Children’s Hospital of Georgia.)

Meet- a -Machine is a family event that provides the public the opportunity to see, touch, and learn about multiple types of vehicles. These vehicles include emergency response vehicles, planes, aircraft equipment, construction equipment, etc.  Food will be available to purchase with proceeds going to each organization.

“This is a great way for young people to get hands on exposure to large and/or emergency equipment.” Said, Herbert Judon Jr., Airport Executive Director. “In addition to being a fundraising opportunity, it may plant the seeds of greater understanding, respect, and perhaps even pursuit of some of the associated career fields.”

Meet-a-Machine will be held on September 28th, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. by Hangar One at Augusta Regional Airport. Free admission with ticket. Tickets can be claimed by visiting www.flyags.ticketleap.com/meet-a-machine/ or by scanning below. This event could not be possible without the support of our sponsors, Chick-fil-A, Coca-Cola, and Portable Services, Inc. Proceeds from the event will be divided evenly between the University Health Care Foundation and the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
