Over the past 15 years, Allgood Comprehensive Dentistry has donated more than $70,000 to Hope House through its annual Smiles for Hope campaign. This year’s campaign resulted in a $3,475 donation.

During Smiles for Hope, which ran from March to June, Allgood Comprehensive Dentistry donated a portion of the proceeds from every teeth-whitening procedure to Hope House’s Therapeutic Childcare Center and Family Services.

The program is a day care center that uses a curriculum to address all major mental, emotional, physical and social development issues challenging the children as a consequence of their parents suffering from addiction to alcohol or drugs. Hope House designed the program to break the cycles of addiction and poverty.

Hope House Inc. is an Augusta nonprofit that provides housing and services to women. A United Way agency, it is a Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities’ Women’s Treatment and Recovery Support Services site. Its program allows residents to keep their children with them as they complete treatment to address issues facing the entire family. Each woman leases her apartment at The Highlands West, the permanent supportive housing facility run by Hope House.
