Doctors Hospital Welcomes Augusta’s First Baby of 2020

Proud parents, Tricia and Jeff Godwin of Grovetown, GA, welcomed their baby boy Jack Ares on January 1, 2020 at 3:10 a.m. Jack is the first baby born in the new year in Augusta and at the Clyde A. Burgamy, M.D. Center for Women at Doctors Hospital.  Dr. Susan T. Bridges delivered Jack, who weighed 8 lbs. measured 21 inches at birth.  
 
“Having a baby is exciting and having a New Year baby makes it even more special,” said Tricia Godwin. “Knowing that our son, Jack, is the first baby born in the city this decade makes us hopeful,” Godwin added.
 
“New Year babies are special reminders of hope for the future and the year ahead,” said Dr. John Farr, Chief Medical Officer at Doctors Hospital. “Our Women’s Center team is always excited about the special joy that holiday babies bring families,” Dr. Farr added.
 
Jack’s entire family is elated about his special New Year arrival.  Jack has been welcomed warmly by his proud sisters, Leah (12) and Lily (10) and his grandparents Dean and Vicky Matson, Matt Williams, Tracey Godwin and Mark Godwin.
 
Since Jack’s arrival this morning Doctors Hospital has delivered four (4) special New Year’s Day babies and expects to deliver at least five more babies before New Year’s Day ends!
