Augusta Tech Names New Board of Director Appointments

Augusta Technical College is pleased to announce the appointments of Dr. Howie F. Gunby (Lincoln County) and Ms. Patricia Goodwin (Columbia County) to the Board of Directors at Augusta Technical College.  Representing their respective counties, each director is elected to a three-year term and may renew their position for two additional terms.

Dr. Gunby is the principal of Lincoln County High School and has served in that capacity since 2011.  In July 2020, he was named the Associate Superintendent for Federal Programs/Special Education.  Prior to joining the Lincoln County School District, he served as the Executive Director for Augusta Technical College’s Adult Education program.

Dr. Gunby is a graduate of Morris Brown College.  He earned his Master’s in Education from Troy State and his Doctorate of Education from the University of Georgia.

Ms. Patricia Goodwin is a realtor with Blanchard and Calhoun.  Previously, Ms. Goodwin worked for Southern Company and the Medical College of Georgia, where she honed her skills in community and public relations.  Ms. Goodwin is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Georgia Association of Realtors, and the Augusta Board of Realtors.  She is currently serving on the Greater Augusta Association of Realtors, RPAC and Legislative Committees.

Ms. Goodwin collaborated with the Augusta Technical College Foundation to establish the Coco Wine Festival Scholarship Endowment for Culinary Arts students.  She is passionate about workforce development and technical education.

Ms. Goodwin is a graduate of Mercer University with a degree in Business Administration.
