The Richmond County School System (RCSS) is seeking input from parents on back-to-school plans. The system announced the release of a nine question survey with questions to obtain parent feedback about their plans for their student(s) in the 2020-2021 school year. The survey also asks parents for feedback about requiring personal protective equipment, transportation and technology access.

“The health and well-being of our students and employees remains important,” said Dr. Kenneth Bradshaw, Superintendent of Schools. “As we continue to evaluate the guidance of public health officials in our plans for the upcoming school year, it is equally important for us to receive feedback from parents about their children returning to school.

The information gathered will be considered as the system finalizes plans for the 2020-2021 school year.

“We will use the information from the survey to ensure we have sufficient instructional support for traditional in-person and virtual learning environments based on parents’ plans for the year,” said Dr. Bradshaw. “It will also help us know what concerns parents have about returning to school so we can work to address them.”

The survey should take less than three minutes to complete and will be available June 17 – June 24, 2020. The survey link is: https://rcboe.info/COVIDParentSurv

“We value the voices of all of our stakeholders and encourage them to complete the survey and share their thoughts,” Dr. Bradshaw added.

In early July, the Richmond County School System plans to distribute guidelines for reopening schools as a roadmap for Richmond County School System families to prepare for the 2020-2021 school year.
