YMCA Providing Meals, Snacks at Halloween Events

Family YMCA of Greater Augusta will be providing 1,750 free grab-and-go weekend meals and snack bags at Trunk-or-Treat events this weekend.

Each weekend meal bag includes 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches. Trick or Treat bags include 7 days of snacks and Halloween coloring sheets. Meals and snack bags will be available at the following events: 

  • October 30: The Wilson Family YMCA Trunk or Treat at 5:00 pm will have 500 Trick or Treat bags and 500 weekend meal bags available

  • October 30Augusta South Family YMCA‘s Haunted Highway at 6:00 pm will have 300 Trick or Treat bags and 300 weekend meal bags available

  • October 31: 150 Trick or Treat bags and 150 weekend meal bags will be available at the Thomson Family YMCA‘s Trunk or Treat at 4:00pm

  • October 31: The North Jefferson Family YMCA‘s Trunk or Treat at 6:00 pm will have 300 Trick or Treat bags and 300 weekend meal bags available

Free Trick or Treat bags can also be picked up at any area YMCA until Saturday, October 31. Addresses can be found on the Y’s website at www.TheFamilyY.org.

The Y’s Food Program is part of a year-round effort to address child hunger. They have provided grab-and-go meals throughout the COVID-19 pandemic at all area branches. By the end of 2020, the Y will have served more than 750,000 meals and snacks to kids and teens across the CSRA.

More free meal opportunities for kids will be posted on the Y’s website over the next few months.
