Augusta Technical College is proud to announce the college’s student winners of the 2021 SkillsUSA State Conference and Championships. Twenty Augusta Tech students competed in the competition, and 18 students took home medals, for a 90% success rate. Additionally, Augusta Tech was recognized as a Level I Chapter Excellence Program, and Digital Media Production Technology Student Christopher McIntosh was elected to State Office. He and his fellow elected officers will receive their office assignments after State Training. The Augusta Technical College 2021 SkillsUSA State Winners are listed below.

The programs represented include Cybersecurity, Barbering, Culinary Arts, and Design and Media Production Technology.

“First, I want to extend my congratulations to the entire Augusta Tech SkillsUSA Team. They truly represent the best of the best. I would also like to say thank you to all of our advisors. We couldn't have done it without Principal Advisor Sherrie Rowe and Support Advisors Dederick Scott, Partica Muse, and Anna Stewart. Because of them, our students are instilled with pride and a belief in themselves. This helps them realize excellence in their SkillsUSA competitions,” stated college president Dr. Jermaine Whirl. “We’re very proud of our students and their success last night. To have 20 compete and 18 take home a medal is an outstanding accomplishment!”

The Gold Medalists will go on to compete at the Nationals, which will be held virtually in June 2021.
