The Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau and The Augusta Sports Council Unveiling New Branding

Staff Report

Wednesday, May 5th, 2021

Please join us for the unveiling of the Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) and the Augusta Sports Council’s (ASC) new corporate branding during National Travel and Tourism Week on Thursday, May 6 at 2:00pm outside of Augusta & Co. at 1010 Broad Street.

Through the new branding both organizations have kept their own individual identities while developing a unified visual identity. The ACVB and ASC worked with local creative agency, Wier/Stewart, on the visual identities for this rebranding effort.

“This new corporate brand does double-duty. It reflects our priority to inspire and convert people to travel to Augusta. It also addresses our responsibility to work at many levels with residents, businesses, and organizations within our region to physically enhance our city as a destination,” said Bennish Brown, President/CEO of the Augusta CVB. “The work we do aligns closely with our friends at the Augusta Sports Council - even sharing an office space together - it just makes sense that our branding be complimentary.”

“We are excited to have the opportunity to unveil this fresh, new look for the Augusta Sports Council which we’ll be using for sports event recruitment and retention to Augusta,” said Brian Graham, CEO of the Augusta Sports Council. “The timing worked out perfectly with the Augusta CVB also going through their rebranding process. We were able to find a way to keep our own identities while developing visual identities that play well together.”

Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. will be in attendance to present a proclamation for National Travel and Tourism Week.
Directly following the proclamation and brand unveiling, individual interview opportunities will be available with:
