Southeast Adaptive Mountain Bike Tour Comes to Augusta

Friday, October 29th, 2021

The largest tour of its kind is coming to Augusta, GA. Catalyst Sports will be traveling with their fleet of adaptive mountain bikes, which include e-assist, junior size and tandem options, to 9 cities in 9 weekends for an experience of a lifetime. On October 30th and 31st, Catalyst Sports invites the greater CSRA community to learn more about adaptive mountain biking. There are spaces for both participants and volunteers to sign up during this two-day event at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park (1858 Lock and Dam Rd, Augusta, GA 30906).  Each ride will last an hour and a half for two adaptive athletes and four volunteers. This time slot will include safety instruction, proper riding technique, and proper fitting of the bike to the participant.

“This might be the first time someone with a disability will access nature off the pavement,” states Catalyst Sports Founder Eric Gray. “There are thousands of people with disabilities in the Atlanta area, and this weekend could be a chance for them to be active in nature for the first time since their disability. Through events like these people with disabilities are empowered to discover their strength and abilities and everyone discovers that we all play a part.”
