Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History Annual Golf Tournament Scheduled for May 20th

On Saturday, May 20, 2023 the Lucy Craft Laney Museum will host its seventh annual fundraising golf tournament.  The tournament format will be a four-person best ball (Captain Choice) at the Augusta Municipal Golf Course. Late registration day of the tournament is 7AM - 7:30AM and Tee-time is 8:30AM with a Shotgun Start. Golfer’s Entry Fee is $85 EARLY BIRD good now - May 19th. Entry fees are $95.00 per golfer on day of the tournament.  The tournament is honoring Ben Bussey, Black Caddie for Craig Stadler during his 1982 Masters win.

A Friday evening Pairing Reception will be held at the Museum on May 19th from 6:00 – 9:00pm. The reception will include beverages, light food, entertainment and a tour of the museum and the current special Golf Exhibition. All funds raised from the tournament will be used to renovate the Museum’s Administration building.

The Lucy Craft Laney Museum has served as a cornerstone for the cultural and historical preservation of African-Americans in Augusta and the surrounding area since opening in 1991. In addition to recognizing Black leaders in Augusta, the museum sponsors numerous community outreach initiatives that include exhibitions, lectures, youth camps, and tours of Augusta’s historic Black sites.
